Suggested rates of application can be found in the below table. However, factors such as surface material, surface structure, ambient temperature and the quantity and quality of the ice pack should also be considered. Careful monitoring of the weather conditions as well as consulting records of past events will provide you with advance notice of any upcoming bad weather and guide you in preventive application of the product.<\/p><p><strong>Pre-wetting<\/strong><\/p><p>Provifrost\u00ae NF is most effective as a de-icer when pre-wet at the auger with a liquid de-icer (Provifrost\u00ae KF ECO or Provifrost\u00ae KA ECO). Start with 10%<\/p><p>liquid de-icer by weight of Provifrost\u00ae NF and adjust for local conditions<\/p><p><strong>Anti-icing<\/strong><\/p><p>Apply just as the storm event begins. With a small amount of precipitation on the surface &#8211; freezing rain, ice or snow &#8211; Provifrost\u00ae NF will activate and keep ice bonds from forming on the surface. This anti-icing strategy is an effective complement to liquid anti-icing during conditions of freezing rain.<\/p><p><strong>De-icing<\/strong><\/p><p>We recommend treating the surface mechanically before applying Provifrost\u00ae NF. Provifrost\u00ae NF may be used in conjunction with a liquid de-icer (Provifrost\u00ae KF ECO\u00a0or Provifrost\u00ae KA ECO) to deal with severe packed snow or ice. First apply Provifrost\u00ae NF to the packed snow or ice. After holes have been punched in the pack, apply the liquid de-icer. The liquid will then have a path to the surface and can quickly break down the pack prior to further mechanical removal.<\/p><p>The table below should be used as a guideline and not as a recommended dosage. Packaged product should be kept indoors in a dry environment, in its original packaging until use.
